FAQ

Can I order an item in a different color or filament than the one shown?
Absolutely. Many Taylor 3D products are made to order, and we're happy to consider color and material requests. If you see a color or filament used elsewhere in our store that you'd prefer on another product, send us a message before ordering and we can confirm whether it will work with that model. Some products also include color selections directly on the product page.

Do you accept custom orders or special requests?
Yes. Taylor 3D accepts custom requests ranging from color and size changes to personalized laser engraving and completely custom projects. If you have an idea that isn't listed in the store, contact us and tell us what you have in mind. We'll let you know what's possible and provide pricing before work begins.

Can I request changes to a product that is already listed?
Yes. A listing shows our standard version of the product, but that doesn't always mean it's the only way we can make it. Depending on the model, we may be able to change the color, material, size or other details. Contact us before ordering if you'd like something different from the listed options.

Will I receive the exact item shown in the photographs?
Sometimes, but usually not. Many Taylor 3D products are made to order. If the photographed item happens to still be available, you may receive that exact piece. Otherwise, we will manufacture a new one for your order using the same model, materials and options you selected.

Because each piece is individually manufactured, very small differences between your item and the photographs are normal.

Why can I see layer lines on some 3D-printed products?
Most of our 3D-printed products are created using FDM 3D printing, which builds an object one extremely thin layer at a time. Fine layer lines are a normal part of this manufacturing process.

Our product photography is intentionally high resolution so customers can see the products closely before purchasing. Cameras, sharpening and image resizing can sometimes make these microscopic repeating layers appear more prominent in photographs than they normally appear to the naked eye.

We photograph our real prints rather than hiding the natural characteristics of the manufacturing process.

Are the product photos pictures of actual Taylor 3D prints?
Our primary product photography is intended to show the actual products we manufacture. Some listings may also include lifestyle images, color guides, renderings or other visual examples to demonstrate use, available options or scale. Where appropriate, these should be treated as examples rather than a guarantee of an exact photographed item.

Why might my item look slightly different from the photo?
3D printing is a manufacturing process with natural variations. Filament batches, lighting, viewing angle and screen settings can all affect how a color or finish appears. Silk and multicolor filaments can change appearance dramatically depending on the direction of the light.

Minor variations, seams and fine layer lines are normal and make each printed piece slightly unique.

What does "made to order" mean?
Instead of keeping large quantities of every color and variation sitting on a shelf, many Taylor 3D products are manufactured after you place your order. This allows us to offer more colors, materials and options without limiting customers to whatever happens to be in stock.

Can you make a product larger or smaller?
Often, yes. Some designs scale very well, while others contain small details that may not print correctly below a certain size or may require considerably more material and machine time when enlarged. Contact us with the size you have in mind and we'll let you know whether it's practical.

Do you offer higher-detail prints for painting or collectors?
For selected models, yes. We can produce higher-detail versions using smaller nozzles, finer layer heights and slower print settings when the model is suitable. These prints take significantly longer to manufacture and may carry a higher price. Contact us if you're looking for a paint-ready, miniature or collector-focused version.

Can you make something for a specific deadline?
Possibly. Contact us before ordering and tell us the date you need the item. We'll check the current print schedule and tell you whether we can reasonably meet it. Rush availability depends on the product, print time and current workload.

Are all Taylor 3D products suitable for outdoor use?
No. Material matters. Some products can be produced in materials better suited to outdoor conditions, while standard PLA products are generally better suited to indoor use. If you want a product specifically for outdoor display, contact us and we can recommend an appropriate material when available.

Why does a large or high-detail print cost more?
3D-printing cost isn't determined only by how much plastic is used. Larger and higher-detail products can occupy a printer for many hours or even days. Finer layers, multiple colors, support materials and specialty filaments can also significantly increase manufacturing time and material use.

What is your return policy?
Your satisfaction is our priority. If something arrives damaged, defective, or just isn't what you expected, we want to make it right. Contact us with a photo of the item and a short explanation of the issue, and we'll work with you on a solution — whether that's a replacement, a reprint, or a refund. We are not here to give you a hard time; we want you to love what you receive.

For domestic US returns on damaged or defective items, we cover return shipping. For general returns on undamaged items, customers are responsible for return shipping costs. International customers are responsible for return shipping in all cases.

Please do not ship an item back without contacting us first. Returns sent without prior authorization may not be accepted.

What if my item arrives damaged or broken?
Contact us right away with photos of the damage and your order information. We take damaged deliveries seriously. Depending on the situation, we will reprint and replace your item or issue a refund. We will not make you jump through hoops — a photo and a message is all we need to get started.

What if I'm just not happy with my order?
We want you to be genuinely happy with what you receive. If you are not satisfied for any reason, reach out before you leave a review or open a dispute. We are a small shop and we take pride in our work. Tell us what's wrong and we will do our best to make it right — whether that means a reprint, an exchange, or a refund.

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. All standard orders ship free within the contiguous United States — no minimum order required. Expedited and faster shipping options are available at checkout for an additional calculated cost. Please note that faster shipping speeds apply to transit time only and do not reduce processing or production time. International orders are calculated at checkout based on destination, weight, and package size.

I have a question that isn't answered here. Can I contact you?
Absolutely. We're a small business and we're happy to answer questions before you order. If you're unsure about a color, material, size or custom request, send us a message and we'll help you figure out the best option.
