At Taylor 3D, we believe customers deserve to understand what they are paying for.

A 3D-printed product may begin with filament, but the finished product is much more than the plastic used to create it. Every Taylor 3D item represents machine time, skilled finishing, specialized materials, careful assembly and detailed quality control.

Our prices are based on a consistent formula that considers the actual resources required to produce each item. We do not price products arbitrarily, and we do not cut corners simply to reach the lowest possible price.

More Than the Cost of Plastic

Traditional mass-produced plastic items may be created by the thousands in a matter of minutes. Our products are built individually, one layer at a time.

Depending on the product, a single print may occupy one of our machines for several hours—or even several days. During that time, the printer is dedicated entirely to that item and cannot produce another order.

Our pricing considers:

  • The amount and type of material required

  • Supports, purge material and normal production waste

  • Total printing and laser-processing time

  • Machine maintenance, electricity and equipment wear

  • Hands-on finishing and assembly

  • Additional components and specialty materials

  • Quality inspection

  • Protective packaging

Two products containing a similar amount of plastic can require completely different amounts of time and work. That is why our prices are based on the complete production process, not simply the weight of the finished object.

Professional Materials and Processes

Taylor 3D works with a wide range of materials, allowing us to choose the right combination of appearance, strength, flexibility and durability for each product.

Our material and production options include:

  • PLA, PETG, ABS and ASA

  • Flexible TPU

  • Silk, metallic and specialty-finish materials

  • Glow-in-the-dark materials

  • Translucent materials

  • Multi-color and multi-material printing

  • Laser engraving

  • Resin filling and weighted bases

  • Hand-applied finishes

  • Rub ’n Buff metallic detailing

  • Protective clear coating

Some Taylor 3D products combine several of these processes. A single item may be printed in multiple materials, laser engraved, hand-cleaned, sanded, assembled, weighted with resin, detailed by hand and sealed with a protective finish before it is ready to ship.

Finished by Hand

The printer creates the foundation of the product, but it does not complete the entire job.

After printing, an item may require support removal, edge cleanup, sanding, fitting, bonding, hardware installation, resin pouring, polishing, metallic detailing or clear coating. Resin-filled products may also require overnight curing before assembly can continue.

Every product is then inspected before packaging. We check surfaces, joints, fitment, finish and overall appearance. Products that do not meet our standards are not shipped simply because the printer technically completed them.

Overbuilt by Design

Taylor 3D was created because we were tired of disposable products that felt light, fragile and cheaply made.

We take a different approach.

Whenever practical, we strengthen vulnerable areas, improve attachment points and use thicker, more durable construction. Some products include internal weights or resin-filled sections to provide greater stability and a more substantial, premium feel.

Our goal is not to use the smallest possible amount of material. Our goal is to produce something that feels thoughtfully designed and built to last.

That philosophy may require additional material and production time, but it creates a better finished product—and that is the standard we want the Taylor 3D name to represent.

How We Determine Our Prices

Every Taylor 3D product is evaluated using the same core pricing process.

We calculate the actual materials, components, machine time, finishing work and packaging needed to produce it properly. We also account for supports, normal material waste, equipment maintenance and the occasional print that must be restarted because it does not meet our standards.

Complex prints, specialty materials, hand finishing and multi-process products naturally cost more to produce than basic single-material items. Our pricing reflects those differences fairly and consistently.

We will never claim to be the cheapest option available. Instead, we work to provide strong value for a product that has been carefully produced, finished and inspected.

Custom and Personalized Orders

Custom products are quoted individually because every project is different.

Pricing may be affected by:

  • Design and model-preparation time

  • Product dimensions

  • Material selection

  • Number of colors or materials

  • Printing time

  • Prototype or test-print requirements

  • Laser engraving

  • Hardware and additional components

  • Assembly and finishing requirements

  • Customer-requested revisions

Before beginning a custom project, we will explain what is included in the quote so there are no surprises.

Shipping and Packaging

Shipping is calculated according to the packaged size, weight and destination of the order. Shipping charges also help cover the materials and handling necessary to protect the product in transit.

Qualifying orders over $75 receive free standard shipping within the contiguous United States. Oversized, unusually heavy and certain custom orders may be excluded.

Every order is packaged according to the needs of the product rather than placed into the least expensive box available. Fragile surfaces, detailed finishes and unusually shaped pieces receive additional protection.

The Taylor 3D Standard

Our products are designed, printed, assembled, finished and inspected in our U.S. shop using domestic and imported materials and equipment.

We use professional Bambu Lab 3D-printing equipment and xTool laser technology, but equipment alone does not guarantee a quality product. The final result depends on material selection, print preparation, machine settings, finishing and careful inspection.

That is where the Taylor 3D difference is found.

You are not simply purchasing a piece of printed plastic. You are purchasing the materials, equipment time, craftsmanship, finishing work and attention to detail required to turn a digital design into a completed product.
